Chad Maddox is the Co-Managing Director of Shelton & Company, CPAs, P.C., an accounting and consulting firm located in Central Virginia, which serves the construction industry. Chad received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Financial Management from Ferrum College.   Chad is currently licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to practice accounting in Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia, and Washington D.C.

Chad started in public accounting in 1996 and gained experience in construction accounting and taxation by serving as staff accountant on numerous audits, reviews, and compilations for Shelton & Company, CPAs, P.C.

Chad is also a Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional, (CCIFP). To obtain said certification, a candidate must meet certain professional and work experience requirements. He must also pass a rigorous examination, consisting of questions related to the field of the construction financial professional. In addition, Chad is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and has performed business valuations for construction companies. Chad also holds the designation of Certified Construction Auditor (CVA).

Chad has authored or co-authored several articles in a national publicized construction magazine. He has also edited a chapter in the Construction Controllers Manual published by Warren, Gorham, & Lamont. Chad has also presented at numerous construction CPE conferences.

In addition to many local, state, and national affiliations, Chad is personally affiliated with the Associated General Contractors of Virginia, Construction Financial Managers Association, and the Virginia Road and Transportation Builders Association. Chad sits on the board and is an officer of the Central District division of the Associated General Contractors of Virginia. He also serves on the board and as an officer of the CFMA of Central Virginia. Chad is also a board member of the Virginia Technical Institute.
